Questions people ask about Tomato Sauce

How long does Tomato Sauce take?

About 35 minutes from starting to sitting down, and it is straightforward. Most of that is active, so read the method through before you start rather than chopping as you go.

What can I use instead of tomato in Tomato Sauce?

Use canned chopped tomatoes, roughly 1 can per 4 fresh. Add a pinch of sugar to offset the acidity.

Can I make Tomato Sauce ahead of time?

You can prepare it a few hours ahead and reheat gently. It keeps two days in the fridge, though it is best on the day.

Is Tomato Sauce vegetarian?

Yes, and as written it is vegan too. Check your specific brands if that matters to you.

How long does home-made tomato sauce keep?

Four or five days in the fridge in a sealed jar, or freeze it in portions. Anything with dairy in it is on the shorter end of that.
