Your kitchen stays on your device. The ingredients you tick, what you've cooked, your week plan — all of it is stored in your own browser and never sent to us. There are no accounts, no login and no database, so there is nowhere for it to go.
One entry in your browser's local storage, holding:
This never leaves your device. We cannot see it. Clearing your browser data deletes it permanently, and there is no copy anywhere else. That is true today and it stays true even if everything below changes.
None today. We do not currently know how many people visit, what they search for, or which recipes get cooked.
This will change. We intend to add basic visitor analytics so we can see which recipes people actually want. When that happens, this section will say exactly which tool it is and what it records, and it will be updated before the change goes live rather than after.
None today. The site carries no advertising and nothing on it is sponsored.
This will change too. The plan is to run display advertising on the recipe pages to pay for the site. Ad networks set cookies and build profiles across the sites they serve — that is how they work, and there is no version of it that is privacy-neutral.
Three commitments about that, written down now so they can be held against us:
None right now. Local storage is not a cookie and is not used for tracking — it is only how the site remembers your kitchen between visits. If advertising brings cookies with it, this section will list them and you will get a real choice about the non-essential ones.
The page loads its two typefaces from Google Fonts, which means Google receives the request. Nothing else is loaded from any other server, and no data about you is included in that request.
Some recipes link out to the cooks and blogs they came from. Once you follow a link you are on their site under their privacy policy, not ours.
The site collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.
Anything that changes what leaves your browser — analytics, advertising, an account system, a newsletter — gets written here before it ships, not after. The date at the top tells you when this was last true.
